The Noticing Podcast (the "Site"), operated by John Franklin Wiley (collectively "we", "our", or "us"), provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information we receive through the Site and through any services provided by us through the Site. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after a posted update signifies your assent to the revised Privacy Policy.
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you join our waitlist, request to be considered as a guest, or otherwise contact us through the Site. Depending on the form, this may include:
When you visit the Site, certain information is automatically collected, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times, browser type, language preferences, operating system, screen size, and the page that referred you to the Site. We also collect information about your activity on the Site (which pages you visit, how long you stay, where you scroll, where you click).
The Site uses cookies (small data files stored on your device). On your first visit, an in-site consent banner asks whether you wish to accept analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity). Analytics cookies are not loaded unless you accept. Strictly necessary cookies that the Site cannot function without are not subject to consent. We use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. ("Google"), to understand how the Site is used. Google Analytics places cookies on your device that generate information about your use of the Site, including your IP address. That information is transmitted to and stored by Google. The information is used to evaluate use of the Site, compile reports on Site activity, and provide other services relating to Site activity. Google's use of cookies and the information collected is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We use Microsoft Clarity, a behavioral analytics service provided by Microsoft Corporation, to understand how visitors interact with the Site. Clarity captures information such as how you use and navigate the Site (mouse movements, scroll depth, clicks) and may record anonymized session recordings of your visit. Clarity does not capture content you enter into form fields by default. The information collected is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
When you complete a form on the Site (such as joining the waitlist or submitting a guest inquiry), we record a conversion event in Google Analytics to track how many visitors complete each action. The event itself does not include the personal information you submitted in the form; it only records that the action occurred.
The Site embeds video hosted by Vimeo, Inc. ("Vimeo"). To protect your privacy, the Vimeo player does not load on page load. A still-image placeholder shows in place of the video until you click the play button. Only when you click play does the Vimeo iframe load, and at that point Vimeo may set its own cookies on your device, collect information about your viewing session, and process information in accordance with the Vimeo Privacy Policy. If you do not click play, no Vimeo cookies are set and no information is sent to Vimeo.

The Noticing Podcast is a property of The Curiosity Table, the umbrella under which John Franklin Wiley's teaching and conversation work gathers. Information collected through this Site may be referenced within the Curiosity Table family of properties (johnfranklinwiley.com, thecuriositytable.com) for the purpose of providing you with the notifications, episodes, or other content you have requested. The same standards described in this Privacy Policy apply across those properties.
You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in those emails or by sending a request to john@johnfranklinwiley.com. After opting out, we may still send you transactional or administrative messages (for example, replying to a question you sent us).
The primary way to disable analytics cookies on this Site is the in-site consent banner that appears on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page. You can also disable cookies entirely in your browser settings, install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on, and follow the instructions in the Microsoft Privacy Statement to opt out of Clarity.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information, and the right to data portability. The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so that we can delete it.
